Marketing is a process, through which, an organization wants to be successful in selling a product or service that people not only desire, but are willing to buy. Marketing is often misunderstood as simply sales but in reality it is a combination of sales and promotion which includes advertising, branding and packaging of goods and services. Nowadays , Marketing is very developed , and marketers whereby marketing promote their products closer to consumers. In additional, Through Advertising, customers have more choice in products. However , marketers abuse advertising too much that have harmful influence on consumers especially children. Companies market food to children on television,on the radio, on the Internet, in magazines, through product placement in movies and video games, in schools, on product packages, as toys, on clothing and other merchandise, and almost anywhere where a logo or product image can be shown. Food marketing techniques include the use of: spokes-characters, celebrities, cartoons, premiums, collectibles, games, contests, and kids’ clubs. Food marketing harmful affects eating habits, health, and behavior of children.

First of all, food marketing affects on eating habits of children such as unpunctuality in eating, eating nutrient deficiency , and eating unhealthy food. Most of the children love to watch the advertising on television, and it hardly take their eyes off the advertising of toys as well as advertisements for confectionery and drinks.Since 1994, U.S. companies have introduced about 600 new children's food products; half of them have been candies or chewing gums, and another fourth are other types of sweets or salty snacks ( Marion, 2006). Therefore, children like to nosh but without control. Some research results showed that while watching the ads chocolate or candy ,the children think of those sweet food , and they just want to eat that. As a result, since 1/2007 The British government has banned advertisements for sugary and energetic foods and drinks to children in TV. Ads also do not showcase the true value of the products , so companies profit from hiding what they put on the products. There are many companies do not put all the information of their product in the nutrition chart in the cover of products . Advertising exclusively promotes foods of poor nutritional quality, but the children are too young to realize it. Based on an extensive review of the research, the American Psychological Association concluded that until the age of about 8 years old children are unable to understand the persuasive intent of advertisements (Kunkel 2004) . For example, foods which are pre-prepared and packed, also known as ready-to-eat food. The consumer has to take it and boil it after which it is ready to eat. But this kind of food is prepared many days before they are sold. By the time it reaches the consumer it loses most of its nutritional values and in many cases it has resulted in food poisoning. Also the foil that is used to wrap such foods gets contaminated and proves dangerous. In additional, food ads make habit of eating junk food which takes less time to get prepared, it is made in a hurry, it lacks the proper cooking time, and much of its ingredients remain uncooked which is harmful to health . Fast foods are attractive to children and may taste them better but these have a bad impact on the children's health. For example, refreshment at Pizza Hut or McDonalds’ attracts teenagers more than anywhere else. The children are easily lured away by the facility available there in spite of the price being a little higher than those available outside. Most of the time the children don't even bother to think about the hygienic conditions in which the food is prepared. There are some research about marketers reached to children consumers, McDonald’s and Burger King have pledged to improve food marketing to children. However, both restaurants increased their volume of TV advertising from 2007 to 2009. Preschoolers saw 21% more ads for McDonald’s and 9% more for Burger King, and children viewed 26% more ads for McDonald’s and 10% more for Burger King ( Jennifer, Marlene,Kelly 2010).

Second, food marketing is the cause of obesity, disease, and the phenomenon of premature puberty on children's health. Food ads is every where such as TV, school , on the bus that take children's attention, and children are addicted to fast food through those ads surround. For example, the children love to eat hamburger , pizza , french fried, ice cream and sweet drinks of some big fast food companies such as Mcdonald, pizza Hut, Burger King. Therefore, obesity on children happens. According to the WHO, nowadays , about 43 million children in the world who are under school-age are obese. Obese children usually spend very little time in physical activities and sports that lead to stress and emotional disorders. Moreover, the excess fat leads to high cholesterol levels in the blood leads to the seeds of heart disease. In fast food also contains high level of sodium which causes high blood pressure and resulting in rupture of blood vessels is very dangerous. Moreover, children often anemia is caused by not getting enough vitamins and iron needed, so children easily tired and lack energy for daily activities.Consequence, it reduces immunity in children, especially some fast food products consist of preservative that cause children`s cancer. In additional, obesity is one of the main causes of the phenomenon of premature puberty in children. Excessive body fat increases the levels of estrogen that play a role in breast development. Also, the children who eat canned food which contains preservatives increase early puberty, because preservatives have the same effects as the sex hormones. Children eat too much fast food which consist of too much fat , sugar , and protein lead to early bone core, increase secretion of sex hormones early.

Next, food marketing causes of many negative affects on behavior of children such as consumption habits of children and conflict with parents. Food advertisings on children consumers which consist of pictures, spokes-characters, music, and cartoon are colorful , lively, and attractively such as . It always take children's attention ,and they want to eat the food in the ads not because the taste . The consumers become habituated with their product, and they will force their parents to buy those items for them though it may be unnecessary. Today, the children are a part of decision making process in many homes. They try to persuade their parents to go for their choice of things. The parents also fail to resist their children's choice and try to make them feel comfortable in anyway possible. The children are feeling if they don't get the commodities that their friends are using then they are out of phase with their friends and get into an inferior sense. Furthermore, a recent study shows that advertising cause of conflict between parents and children. For example, children often want to buy the products in advertising, but parents do not agree to buy it. Because they can not afford buying every items, or those product are unnecessary. As the result, the children are unhappy communicate with there parents, they also attitude irritability and do not listen to their parents. Moreover, some parents forbid their kids to watch the advertising on TV because they afraid of the negative effect of food advertising on their kids. Therefore, the children up set , and they do not obey their parent.

In short, the development of food marketing profits of companies to increase their consumers , but it is unnecessary to focus marketing on children consumers. Because of the fact that

companies purposefully market to the young children's tastes in a variety of ways through package design, typefaces, pictures, and content, the children are attractive on the products .It impact on children many harmful effects such as eating habit, health, and behavior .
